Admit it. You loved parody horror franchise “Sharknado.” You couldn’t get enough of it. And, in celebration of its 10-year anniversary, The Asylum – in partnership with Bingeable, Vital Signs Entertainment, and Hidden Ones – has launched the “Bitepass,” a limited-window, open-edition digital collectible marking a significant moment in Web3 entertainment.

The Asylum and Rubey Entertainment have also announced the 10th Anniversary theatrical release of the first Sharknado film, a limited event set to take place on August 15th and 16th, 2023 on up to 500 screens nationwide. Prior to the film, the full Sharknado Bites Again! campaign will be revealed and attendees will be offered an exclusive digital collectible to commemorate the special event.

The over-the-top viral film franchise, which broke all Twitter records when it first premiered and featured a bevy of cameos from the likes of Mark Cuban, Tony Hawk, Tori Spelling, and Academy Award Nominee Judd Hirsch, spawned a total of six feature-length films. Initially released by the Syfy Channel, the films have become global, cult classics reaching heights that no other indie film franchise has ever achieved. 

The Sharknado Bites Again! Bitepass,” an open edition collectible, will usher fans into a new Sharknado era. The full scope of the initiative will be revealed in-theaters during a two-day theatrical event featuring a new, digitally remastered version of the first film in the Sharknado franchise. The new version of the film contains enhanced visual effects, color, and sound, as well as previously deleted scenes. The film event, distributed by Rubey Entertainment, will be available in up to 500 theaters across the U.S. on August 15-16, 2023. A viral campaign has begun encouraging fans to show up in costumes and suggesting audience participation during key moments of the film.
