From Ovation: For Women’s History Month, Ovation TV recognizes women artists and artistry across all mediums through weekly feature presentations during its Friday night “Red Carpet Cinema” block, a curated on-demand programming lineup, and public service announcements. The network also celebrates diversity in the arts through its advocacy platform Stand for The Arts, a national initiative to raise awareness, protect access and encourage action on behalf of the arts.
The Stand For The Arts public service announcements honor women artists making a positive impact on their communities, those who inspire with creativity, and the storytellers who invigorate the arts. The PSAs highlight a variety of Stand For The Arts coalition members from across the nation, including 3Arts, ArtTable, and Write Girl, showcasing the importance of diversity and women’s voices.
Every Friday night during its “Red Carpet Cinema” block, the arts network celebrates the women artists who have left their mark on the art of film, including Ellen Pompeo (Art Heist), Hilary Swank (The Next Karate Kid), Salma Hayek (Fools Rush In), and Zoe Saldana (Guess Who).
Starting on March 1, the arts network also highlights women artists who have made a significant impact on the national and international stage, with series and films celebrating Visionary Women, Leading Ladies, Show-Stoppers, and Women in Music. All titles below will become available during the month of March, free to all, on the Ovation NOW app and at the Ovation TV Watch website. This showcase of women artists will live on year-round as a curated content experience, reinforcing Ovation’s commitment to advancing diverse voices and perspectives.
