Warner Bros. Animation, DC, and Warner Bros. Home Entertainment have announced Batman: Knightfall, an ambitious multi-part animated event inspired by one of the most iconic and beloved storylines in Batman comic book history.

The announcement was made during New York Comic Con following the conclusion of The Art Knight: Batman in Animation panel, which explored the creative evolution and artistry behind Warner Bros. Animation’s many interpretations of the Dark Knight across generations.

Currently in production, Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall is set for release in 2026. The film follows the Caped Crusader as he faces his greatest physical and psychological trial yet when the ruthless mastermind Bane unleashes chaos by freeing Batman’s entire Rogues Gallery from Arkham Asylum.

Based on the legendary DC Comics event Batman: Knightfall — originally crafted by Doug Moench, Chuck Dixon, Alan Grant, Dennis O’Neil, Peter David, Jo Duffy, Jim Aparo, Graham Nolan, Norm Breyfogle, and Jim Balent — the animated feature is directed by Jeff Wamester and written by Jeremy Adams. Rick Morales serves as Supervising Producer alongside Producers Jim Krieg and Kimberly S. Moreau, with Sam Register and Michael Uslan as Executive Producers.

Warner Bros. Animation continues to expand the Batman legacy through its dynamic slate of projects, including Aztec Batman: Clash of Empires, Batman: Caped Crusader, Harley Quinn, Teen Titans Go!, My Adventures with Superman, and more.
