From MeTV: The MeTV Network’s original series Collector’s Call returns to America’s #1 classic television network with an all-new third season of the popular nostalgia-loving series, premiering Sunday, March 27 at 6:30pm ET/PT. In the new 23-episode season, host Lisa Whelchel (The Facts of Life, Survivor) offers an up-close look at fascinating and rarely seen private collections of pop culture memorabilia and one-of-a-kind collectibles that range from the precious to the priceless.
“This season takes the series to a whole new level of amazement, fun and surprise,” said host Lisa Whelchel. “Some of the collections we’ll see are museum-worthy, with home takeovers devoted to displaying beloved treasures, each one with a heart-warming story behind it.”
“The return of Collector’s Call with Lisa Whelchel is something we are very excited to bring to the MeTV viewers,” noted Neal Sabin, vice chairman of Weigel Broadcasting Co. “Lisa is wonderful and seeing the amazing collections and hearing the stories of the collectors touches a chord with our viewers. This show is a fun, contemporary way to explore nostalgia that connects with audiences and helps us broaden the MeTV brand in a unique and appealing way.”
In each half-hour episode, Whelchel and an expert appraiser go inside the homes of collectors, exploring the jaw-dropping treasure troves centered around pop culture fandom and nostalgic memorabilia. These appraisals often shock the collectors. During each episode, the collector must decide between keeping a long-time treasure or swapping it for a new coveted trophy. Will they make a trade? It’s the Collector’s Call!
Among the collections being showcased in Season 3 are:
Sunday, March 27 at 6:30pm ET/PT – “Patrick Brickley – Movie Props/Costumes”
Patrick Brickley’s collections cover his home from floor to ceiling. The lifelong lover of film and television will share his favorite movie props and costumes, including memorable items from modern classics like Seinfeld (1989-1998), Good Will Hunting (1997), Almost Famous (2000) and Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982). Movie props expert, Mark Short, joins host Lisa Whelchel to appraise Patrick’s vast collection and to entice Patrick to trade one of his beloved pieces for another screen-used item on his wish list.
Sunday, April 3 at 6:30pm ET/PT – “Tom Pfrogner – Lost in Space”
Tom Pfrogner is not your average Lost in Space fan. This high school band teacher has outfitted his basement with an incredible life-sized reproduction of the Jupiter Two Flight Deck and talking B9 Robot to accompany his impressive collection of props and costumes from the hit TV show. Doug Hines, a fellow Lost in Space fan and builder of movie and television prop recreations, joins host Lisa Whelchel on the visit to Pfrogner’s home. Hines appraises this out-of-this-world collection and tries to see if Tom will go for a trade — one favorite piece of memorabilia for another rare piece of Lost in Space history.
Sunday, April 10 at 6:30pm ET/PT – “Jack Condon – Charlie’s Angels”
Jack Condon loves Charlie’s Angels so much that he’s co-authored a book on the 1970s TV show. He’ll share his knowledge about the hit series, as well as his favorite items from his Guinness World Record-holding collection, including a life-sized Charlie’s Angels-themed van, modeled after a popular ’70s toy kit. General appraiser and expert, Kate Martin, will appraise these angelic treasures and see if she can convince Condon to trade one of his cherished items for two pieces of Angels memorabilia in a deal that he may not be able to resist.
Sunday, April 17 at 6:30pm ET/PT – “Vivian Eisenstadt – Wonder Woman”
Vivian Eisenstadt has amassed a truly super collection of over 2,000 Wonder Woman items. She will reveal her favorite pieces of memorabilia related to both the comic and popular 1970s TV series superhero, including some highly valuable action figures and a rare 1941 comic book. Pop-culture historian and archivist, Rob Klein, joins host Lisa Whelchel to appraise Eisenstadt’s wonderful collectibles and will offer the superfan the chance to trade one of her favorite pieces for an item Rob considers the “holy grail” of Wonder Woman memorabilia.
